Laser scanner surveys

Laser scanner survey technologies and the digitalisation of the built environment represent fundamental tools for acquiring high-precision geometric data for existing buildings, even those of particular complexity. Surveying via LiDAR scanning technology enables the creation of high-density point clouds, from which highly accurate, true-to-life 3D digital models can be derived. These models can then be processed to create digital twins and conduct virtual tours, which are useful for both structural analysis and targeted intervention planning.

Furthermore, the integration of 3D surveying and FEM modelling allows for the construction of accurate computational models consistent with the actual geometry, thereby optimising structural assessment activities, static and seismic evaluation, and the design of customised interventions for individual structures.
