Design of strengthening interventions for structural elements
Design of strengthening interventions on structural and secondary elements using composites or innovative materials
The design of structural strengthening interventions with composite and innovative materials represents a highly efficient solution for the restoration, upgrading, and performance improvement of beams, columns, walls, floor slabs, and structural joints, as well as secondary elements such as infill masonry and internal partitions, thereby contributing to the overall safety of the building. SE LAB employs advanced technologies such as FRP (Fibre Reinforced Polymer), CRM (Composite Reinforced Mortar), carbon or glass fibre fabrics, elastomeric materials, and other innovative systems whose primary objective is reduced invasiveness. These solutions make it possible to increase bending, shear, compressive, and tensile strength, as well as improve static and seismic performance, while preserving the architectural and functional characteristics of the strengthened elements.
